Xiao is a co-founder and the CEO of ACEA Therapeutics, as well as chairman of subsidiaries, ACEA Pharmaceuticals and ACEA Pharma Research. Prior to ACEA Therapeutics, he co-founded ACEA Biosciences and served as the CEO for 15 years, where he led the company in achieving innovative cell-based assay technology development, a business partnership with Roche Applied Sciences, and global commercialization of ACEA’s proprietary technology and products. At ACEA Therapeutics, Xiao oversees all global activities related to our programs including drug discovery, clinical development, regulatory, manufacturing, and the commercialization efforts for Abivertinib in China.

Prior to ACEA, Xiao was the director of gene expression and amplification at Nanogen, Inc., and a research scientist at Gladstone Institutes, US Centers for Disease Control, and The Scripps Research Institute.

Xiao received a medical doctorate degree from Zheijiang University Medical School. He owns over 30 US patents and patent applications, and has published over 60 research articles in international journals, including Science, PNAS, Nature Biotechnology, and Chemistry and Biology.
